ACS Faculty & Staff

Mrs. Mata has been part of the ACS Family since 2012, serving as secretary, School Board President, and an active parent. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Angelo State University and is pursuing a Master's in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Mata and her husband, Deacon Marc, have five children. Ann Marie, Sarah Elizabeth, John Marc, and Matthew James are all graduates of ACS, and Catherine Grace is in 4th grade. They are members of St. Mary’s Church. It is a blessing for Mrs. Mata to share her faith both personally and professionally.

Mrs.Allen has been apart of the ACS family for multiple years, but has joined our staff recently. She has six children, three of whom attend ACS in our elementary school.

Mrs. Colin is in her 5th year at ACS. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with additional training in Pedagogy, Purposeful Play, Arts & Expression for Children. Mrs.Colin and her husband of 18 years, Juan, have three children, a daughter, Sheccid, a junior, a son Didier, a freshman, and a daughter Irais, an ACS 6th grader. They are members of Sacred Heart Cathedral. She is also a volunteer with the CIU at Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, where she serves as a volunteer who helps victims of crime.

"Mrs.Lupita" as the children call her, is new to our ACS family this 25-26 school year. She comes with educational experience and eagerness to help our 3k teacher, Mrs.Colin.

Mrs. Marybeth Lozoya is our 4K teacher. She is trained in early education and makes learning FUN in 4K. She has been with ACS for 11 years. She and her husband Joey, are members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and volunteer at several ACS activities throughout the year.

Mrs.Hernandez is the wife of our science teacher, Mr.Hernandez. She is new to our ACS family this 25-26 school year, and is here to help our 4k teacher, Mrs.Lozoya.

Ms. Brown, our 1st-grade teacher, a native of Sonora, has been at ACS since January 2022. She is a graduate of Angelo State University. "I feel immensely blessed to be a part of such a special school." ~ C. Brown

Mrs. Halfmann is the 1st-grade aid and tutor. She is a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Mrs. Hasty has been at ACS for 39 years. She is a member of the Holy Angels parish. Her daughter Jessica is an ACS alumna and her grandson Jaxon is a kindergartner at ACS. Her family recently welcomed granddaughter Jillian Rose. Mrs. Hasty's favorite thing about ACS is going to Mass with her students. She loves bringing God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit into all aspects of the school. day.

Deacon Zimmerman grew up in Arizona and attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School from kindergarten through 8th grade. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's of Science in Operations Management and worked in retail management for many years prior to teaching. He received his teaching certification through Angelo State University and previously taught at ACS from 1996-2006. He was the Religion Education Coordinator at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart prior to returning to ACS in 2020. Deacon is happy to be back at ACS and sharing his life skills and faith with our third graders.

Mrs.Guerra has spent a full year here at ACS as our kindergarten teacher, but is now repositioned in our 4th-grade position. We have loved seeing how those kindergarteners blossomed, and we can't wait to see how these 4th graders grow!

Mrs. Pickett begins her first year at ACS as the Middle School ELAR and 5th Grade Homeroom teacher. She taught for several years in the public school system and is excited to make ACS her new education home. She enjoys reading and exploring different genres of literature, spending time with her family, playing board games, and being outdoors. She is a member of the Cathedral of Sacred Heart, where she is a facilitator of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Religious Education.

Mr. Hernandez has been the ACS science teacher for 16 years. He is a graduate of Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Biology. Mr. Hernandez is our faculty sponsor for the ACS Robotics Club. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for 33 years and has two children who live in the Houston area. He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Some of his favorite past-time activities include watching sports and playing a round of golf once in a while.

Mrs. Schroeder has been at ACS for 17 years, after previously teaching in the public school system. She taught 3rd grade at ACS for ten years and has been in middle school mathematics for the last seven. Mrs. Schroeder and her husband are members of Christoval Baptist Church where she is active in Women's Ministry , VBS, and a team leader on the church finance team. She has two children, Grady, who will forever be 31, and Preslie who is a horse breeder, trainer, and professional barrel racer. She and her husband also have two dogs Hoot and Heidi, and two cats Missy and Snowflake. Her past time activities include working in her yard and kayaking on the South Concho River.

Mrs.Moon is new to our ACS family. She comes with an educational background and a plan to finish schooling with an education degree.

"Mr.H" is easily a class favorite. Each grade in ACS has a music class, and our music teacher makes it the most enjoyable experience.

"Señor Coach" is new to our ACS family and is quickly growing to become a student favorite. Each grade takes a P.E. or athletic class, and Mr.Mendez has these kids fit and laughing!

"Coach G" is an ASU student and is joining the ACS family with so much to offer. We are so excited to see what she will do!

Mrs. Fuentes is in her third year at ACS and is loved by all. Her delicious food makes her a student favorite. She and her husband have three children who are all ACS students. Salma (6th grade), Armando (4th grade) and Ossiel (2nd grade).

Ms.Jimenez is new to the ACS family, but is very excited to be a part of a great mission. Her daughter will be starting school with ACS this 2025-2026 school year. She is from Sonora, TX, so she has been around the area all of her life. She is also a type 1 diabetic.
